ABOUT THIS COMMITTEE
The Fourth Committee of the General Assembly, also known as the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL), was established in 1947 to address a wide range of political and decolonization issues. Its main focus includes promoting peace, decolonization, and the advancement of human rights around the world. As a General Assembly Committee, it plays a crucial role in fostering international cooperation and resolving conflicts related to self-determination, territorial disputes, and political autonomy. Every resolution passed within SPECPOL holds significant value in shaping global policies and promoting lasting peace.
